About The Role

We are working with a boutique hedge fund hiring for a junior full-stack java engineer to join their front office team developing a greenfield real-time Risk and P&L application.


Company

This company has grown from strength since its establishment over 10 years ago. They now have several global offices with nearly 200 employees, handling in excess of $10 billion. This client put significant emphasis on building agile, scalable, and supportable systems.


Role

They are currently looking for strong JVM engineers to work on greenfield projects, building new bespoke applications while also building pre and post-trade analysis tools for portfolio managers and their quant teams. In the Front Office tech team, there are 30 developers globally and you’ll be given the opportunity to learn the business from industry-leading managers in a cross-asset environment.


The key technology stack will be in a Java ecosystem on a cloud-first system, but they are also looking for individuals who will relish the opportunity to integrate different tools and technologies where most appropriate. Some of their technologies include Java, Typescript, React, Kafka, SQL Server, MongoDB, and Docker.


Requirements

  • At least 2 years of commercial experience working with Java 11 and Typescript or React.

  • Commitment to agile methodologies as well as a passion for writing well-tested software using TDD.

  • Strong academic background, in computer science/maths/physics.

  • Experience/interest in the business.
