A very well-funded and renowned tech start-up is looking for a Head of Engineering. Their ground-breaking platform is looking at transforming the way that we live our home lives in the digital age.

Reporting directly into the CEO. the Head of Engineering will act as a de facto CTO and be tasked with running an engineering department. You will shape the roles, responsibilities, tech stack and development standards across the whole business. Furthermore, in concert with the CEO and Head of Product, the role holder will form part of the leadership group that combines to drive business growth.

Given the start-up nature of the company, the Head of Engineering will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to get involved with hands-on technology elements as well as setting the overall tech strategy. A full-stack development background is preferable, combined with strong experience in mobile, web and API platforms.

Clearly, a deep passion for employing modern technologies and techniques is essential but at the same time, this should be tempered with strong commercial awareness and the vision required to deliver a secure, scalable end product.

The tech stack is currently very much using the latest in web and opensource tech, combined with a Salesforce backend but the future landscape is very much up for conversation and the Head of Engineering will have full accountability for tech and architectural decisions.
